If you research data regarding FSBO residential real estate transactions long enough, you will see a pattern emerge whereby the vast majority of quoted statistics come from within the real estate establishment itself. Then the real estate agents, both online and your local agents, will likely repeat those same statistics constantly – most of which paints the most dire and dismal of success opportunities for FSBO sellers.
The real estate establishment is in the business of promoting real estate agents. Simultaneously it internally produces the lion’s share of statistics and sales information, which is presented as completely objective, that is widely distributed.
However, simple logic asks the question: why would the establishment present any argument which does anything other than promoting the maximum use of real estate agents?
It is good to do the research and due diligence, but before you get hit with waves of FSBO fear, doom & gloom, consider the sources to whom you are listening. And then move forward with your own best judgement.
